3 Pros & Cons to living in Bandung

With my taster trip now completed, I feel a little more prepared for our Bold Move. I also think I can probably predict some of the pros and cons to life in Indonesia, but only time will tell...

Cons
1. The Traffic!
So unpredictable, you never know if a journey will take you 5 minutes or 5 hours
2. The Short Days
The sun sets at around 5:30pm all year. Meaning, although the temperature feels like summer the dark nights will make afterwork activities difficult.
3. The Distance
Living in Spain, I'm used to being far away from my family, however, Indonesia is 7 hours ahead of the UK, making Skype/video calling difficult to organise.
Pros
1. The Culture
Far from our busy but organised lives here in Madrid, Bandung is a relaxed chaos, the mentality and life style is something I hope we can learn from and take with us in future.
2. Travel
With an abundance of bank holidays and nearby dream destinations, we will soon be jetting off to discover Asia, Australia and who knows where else
3. Living Situation
The cost of living is much lower in Bandung, but our salaries remain the same. We will have the opportunity to live in a decent sized house, eat at great restaurants, travel and save money.
